Who Can Apply for LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026?
The scholarship is divided into two categories. Students should check the applicable category before applying.
General Scholarship – After Class 12th/Diploma
Students can apply for the General Scholarship if they meet the following conditions:
They should have secured 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in the 12th Class examination or its equivalent.
This examination should be passed in the academic sessions of either 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26.
They should join for admission into the 1st year of a suitable programme in the academic year 2026-27.

The scholarship is generally provided for the duration of the eligible course, subject to the student continuing to meet the renewal conditions. Internship or stipendiary periods are excluded.
When Will the Scholarship Amount Be Paid?
For newly selected candidates, the first instalment will be payable from 1st September 2026 and the second instalment will be payable from 1st February 2027.
The second instalment is based on the submission of the first semester result or attendance certificate as applicable.
The scholarship will be paid into the active bank account of the selected candidate through NEFT transfer. The bank details like IFSC code and cancelled cheque signed by the candidate are needed.

Selection is primarily based on academic merit and eligibility.
Applications are automatically routed to one of LIC’s 112 Divisional Offices according to the applicant’s address PIN code. Eligible applicants are ranked based on their qualifying examination marks.
Each division has a designated quota:
- 40 boys and 40 girls for General Scholarship
- 20 boys and 20 girls for Special Scholarship
Gender slots may be interchanged if there is a shortage in a particular category.

Important Renewal Conditions
Getting the scholarship during the first year itself does not ensure that it will be paid during the entire period of the course. Students have to fulfill certain conditions of academic performance and attendance.
In case of the Medical and Engineering courses, the minimum required marks for the students to be awarded the scholarship is 55% or equivalent SGPA/CGPA in the last exam and passing all subjects.
In case of Graduation and other eligible courses, the required marks is 50% or equivalent SGPA/CGPA and passing all subjects.
In case of Special Scholarship, the required marks is 50% marks and passing all subjects in the first-year exam.
Students who get their cleared in failed subjects through grace marks are disqualified from continuing their scholarship program.
Who Is Not Eligible?
There are many limitations on the grant. It is not meant for regular postgraduate studies, but those integrated courses where graduation and postgraduate studies take place can qualify.
Those students pursuing their education through correspondence, part-time/evening/night classes, or open university system are not eligible. Professional self-study courses like CA, CS, and Cost Accountancy are also ineligible.

Generally, a student already getting a scholarship from any other trust/organization cannot get the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation scholarship. An exception to this is government scholarships.
